PORTES OUVERTES – BIENVENUE À TOUS POUR CETTE RENTRÉE AU SHALA 2017!

Nous sommes très heureux d’accueillir les nouveaux venus et les habitués de Mysore Yoga Paris pour 2 matinées Portes Ouvertes, les 4 et 5 janvier 2017 pour des cours gratuits pour tous! 
Mercredi 4/1:  8h00-10h00 Mysore (Kia/Lise) et 8h30-10h00 Intro Mysore (Sandra)
Jeudi 5/1: 7h30-9h00 Intro Mysore (Lise) et 8h00-10h00 Mysore (Kia/Agnes)
Durant ces 2 matinées, les élèves pratiquant Mysore auront la possibilité d’arriver 30 minutes avant le début du cours pour commencer leur pratique (7h30); les intro mysore se dérouleront aux horaires indiqués. Si vous avez un tapis de yoga, merci de l’amener.

Ashtanga Yoga & Pranayama in depth 
with KIA NADDERMIER

We are so pleased to offer a 3rd session of Kia´s Deepening Course of Ashtanga Yoga & Pranayama in Sierra Nevada this summer! This is an opportunity for our community to book your room before we go public at the end of the week. Please don´t hesitate to contact kia if you have any questions at all. For the fourth year, we gather in the magnificent mountains of the Sierra Nevada to deepen our practice and understanding of yoga as a whole – allowing its subtleties to unfold and blossom.

We open our mornings with Ashtanga Yoga – a combination of Mysore Style classes, where you receive individual guidance and adjustments from Kia, and some led classes focused on specific aspects of the practice. Afternoon sessions are dedicated to the philosophy and practice of Pranayama, the ancient yogic breathing techniques. Kia will offer her experience and guidance as we allow space for a daily practice of  Ashtanga Yoga, Pranayama and Kriyas (yogic purification techniques) as well as Sitting and Mantra-recitation.

Alongside the yoga practice there will be other optional activities including day trips to Granada or Almeria beach, vegetarian cookery with local chefs, hiking and, of course, hanging by the pool or enjoying massages from Maura Mulvaney… Kia will be assisted in the Ashtanga classes by her long-time apprentice Hélène Couderc.

Run by the lovely Brittish couple David & Emma Illsey, Las Chimeneas is a truly authentic and unique pearl, located in one of the most beautiful and energetically powerful spots in all of Europe. The accommodation is lovely, with plenty of antiques, books, nooks and crannies. Many rooms have fabulous views across the hills to the distant sea. The food is delicious – organic, vegetarian, locally grown. Yoga classes are held in the outdoor shala which nestles in olive groves, overlooking the mountains.  This is a magical place to retreat, re-charge and give yourself space to deepen your practice.

The course is open to all levels of practitioners with an established Mysore Style self-practice.

BOOKINGS & INFO: Prices include full board, airport transfer from Malaga, all yoga sessions, meals, local activities and cooking class and begin at 795€ per person – depending on the room and if accommodaion is shared or single. Early-bird discount is offered for payments made in full before 30th of May. Please note that all rooms are different and there is a limited amount of single rooms available. The choice of rooms is offered on a first-to-register basis so early booking is highly recommended!

We are so happy to invite you to celebrate our beloved Shala´s 5 year anniversary on Friday the 15th of April! 

7h00-8h45 We come together for a full Counted Primary Series with Kia, followed by « Happy Birthday Brunch » (with surprises…!) from 9h00-10h30. No need to RSVP, just bring your yoga mat (we only have a few to rent) and come!! The yoga class and brunch is free and offered to you with much love by the Mysore Yoga Paris team. You are of course more than welcome to contribute to the brunch with your favorite treat if you wish..! Please note that practice space is limited, so the first to show up will be the first to have a spot! Doors open at 6h45…

Saturday & Sunday 9.00-11.30

The Intermediate Series of Ashtanga Yoga is known to balance the energy, gradually giving access to the central channel, Sushumna Nadi. It combines deep back-bending, twisting, hip-opening and balancing postures and is designed to awaken and strengthen our entire body and nervous system. We approach these challenging postures with intelligence, playfulness and awareness of both physical and energetic alignment principles. Over the weekend Kia will guide you on a journey beyond the external form of the postures towards internal understanding and energetic balance – enabling you to inform and inspire your practice regardless of your current level.

Please note: You do NOT need to be an Intermediate Series practitioner to attend. The workshop is open for all interested practitioners, except complete beginners to Ashtanga Yoga.

Nadi Shodana Pranayama – principles, practice and philosophy

Saturday & Sunday 15.00-16.30

Nadi Shodana means Purification of the Nadis and is considered to be a Kriya, a purification technique that balances and prepares the physical- and energetic pathways for yogic practices. It is a complete practice in its own right that lies at the very heart of Hatha Yoga. Kia will introduce us to some of the classical Kriyas and preparatory practices, creating an understanding for the technique and philosophy behind Nadi Shodana and the significance of breath in yogic practices.

Mysore Yoga Paris a 3 ans !

Pour fêter ce jour spécial le vendredi 6 juin, Kia donnera un cours guidé de la 1ère Série d’Ashtanga avec les comptes traditionnels, qui débutera à 7h30. Après la pratique, nous vous réservons évidemment quelques surprises autour du gâteau… toute contribution au « goûter » à partager est la bienvenue ! Le Pop-Up store du Yoga Shop Paris sera présent avec une promotion spéciale « anniversaire » sur la collection printemps/été !

La participation au cours se fait sur donation libre, et l’intégralité de l’argent récolté ira à l’association Operation Shanti, à Mysore. 5th – 12th of July: Deepening Course, the practice and philosophy of Ashtanga Yoga and Pranayama. Mysore morning sessions including some counted classes, focused on specific aspects of Ashtanga Yoga and its philosophy. Afternoon Pranayama sessions daily, except for one mid-week afternoon left open for exploration, activities or rest!

12th – 19th of July: Self Practice Intensive with Pranayama. This intensive is focused on each individual´s self-practice and needs. Pranayama every other afternoon: Introduction and working up to a self practice for new students, refining and cultivating your practice for those staying on. The free afternoons will offer time to explore the area with an optional visit to Alhambra, Granada…
